Larry Cat In Space is an imaginative cartoon about an inquisitive cat
who takes a trip to the Moon. Diana, Larry’s favorite member of the
family takes a job on the Moon and sadly leaves Larry behind.
Later,
Larry figures out a way to hide in her clothes trunk before it is loaded
onto the Space Plane which takes him to space station Freedom. From
there, he is transferred to the Lunar Shuttle. When Diana discovers
Larry, he leaps to greet her, but sails over her head since he only
weighs two pounds in lunar gravity. Soon after his arrival Larry is
ordered to return to Earth. (You’ll have to see the show to see what
happens next!). Also, after the show kids can see how much they
would weigh on the Moon by stepping on our Moon scale!
Approximately 25 minutes long.
Grades: K-3 through 2nd.

WSKY: Radio Station of the Stars is patterned after
a Top 40 radio station and hosted by the fictional DJ team of Moondog
Matt Midnight and Stella Sunspot. Join them as they present a totally
spaced out show that explores the universe. The show includes original
"chart-topping" hit singles, call-in segments with Dr. Cosmos
who answers questions on everything from shooting stars to black holes,
wacky interplanetary weather reports, zany solar system traffic reports,
cosmic news and much more! The show gives a general overview of some
constellations and how to find them in the night sky, information about
planets, as well as some of the mythology. Approximately 40 minutes
long. Grades: 3 - 6.

The Voyager Encounters, narrated
by actor Patrick Stewart, provides a factual
yet entertaining tour of the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus,
and Pluto) and their moons and rings, courtesy of the highly successful
Voyager 1 and 2 missions. This thorough documentary discusses the functions
of Voyager's instrument packages, the highlights of each flyby, and
compares and contrasts each of the planet's atmospheres and magnetic
fields, as well as their moons and ring systems. Approximately 45 minutes long.
Grades 7 - adult. |
